The overriding story of Bob's life is to breakthrough intractable situations and succeed where others might give up. He began trading stocks at age 15 after a track accident curtailed athletics for a period. Over his 30-year career in the money management industry, Bob has proved his ability to lead and grow market impacting organizations. An inspiring communicator and strategic thinker, Bob excels in building relationships and providing the best solutions for his clients.

Prior to joining Building Champions in 2014, Bob helped build three investment management firms. As Senior Vice President at Columbia Management Group, Bob served as the top sales professional at the firm managing $500 billion in assets. He left his role as Senior Vice President at a private equity manager after being coached by Building Champions and attending the annual Building Champions Experience.

With a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and classics at the University of California, Davis and an MBA from the University of Oregon, Bob was an adjunct lecturer in graduate finance courses. He also serves as the Teaching Leader for a 500 member class of the international nonprofit, BSF International.

Bob and his wife Mary Ann have been married since 1984 and have two grown sons. He's an avid skier, runner, hiker and fly fisherman who retreats to Montana each summer to a rustic cabin where the film "A River Runs Through It" was shot. Pulling trout out of the Gallatin is the ultimate intractable situation at which Bob seeks to succeed!
