As a champion for his clients, Mike encourages them to dream big and live a robust life—and then helps them create a plan to do just that. He has a calm and level presence and injects levity into conversations. With transparency and when appropriate, Mike shares his own leadership stories with his clients as he recognizes authenticity should be shared by both parties to foster an open coaching relationship.
As a past client of Building Champions, Mike experienced the organization and coaching firsthand. After meeting staff members and coaches at a Building Champions event, he observed an alignment of organizational values with the way our team of staff and coaches consistently served others. The authenticity drew him to the organization, and he joined the team as an Executive Coach in 2021.
Prior to joining Building Champions, Mike most recently worked as a Performance Coach and Client Success Manager for a nationally recognized training company where he primarily served large enterprise clients. His professional background includes nearly 30 years in financial services—both banking and mortgage. Mike held a variety of roles and understands the experience of both the individual contributor as well as the senior leader. During his time in the mortgage industry, Mike co-led a team of 65 loan originators that generated over $1Billion of production year over year. He followed a coaching leadership model and watched his team deliver top results—believing that if he kept his focus on ensuring the team operated from a place of wholeness and balance that together they would achieve their goals.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Jose State University. He also graduated from the Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership. He enjoys watching sports, reading, spending time with family and friends and playing golf. Currently, he resides in Auburn, Alabama with his wife and together they have three kids who are spread across the country.
