Measuring the Return on Investment in Coaching

Whether you're an individual leader or part of an organization, coaching represents a significant investment in terms of time and resources. ROI assessment lets you see if coaching has truly made a positive impact, like enhancing leadership skills, improved decision making, and boosting performance.

It's like checking if you're getting your money's worth.

This way, you can decide whether to keep, tweak, or stop coaching initiatives, ensuring that your investment leads to meaningful personal and professional growth while aligning with your goals in today's competitive business world.

At Building Champions, we are committed to providing premier coaching services that transform the people and organizations we serve.

We survey our clients at the mid-point and at the end of their coaching engagement. We ask them whether they agree or disagree with the following statements. The results below show the percentage of people who said they agree with the statement being made about their coaching experience.

Our 2023 Net Promoter Score

80

Net Promoter Score (NPS) is a simple but powerful way to measure how satisfied customers are with a company's products or services.

It's calculated based on one key question:

"On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend our company to a friend or colleague?"

People who respond with a 9 or 10 are considered promoters. They're super happy and likely to spread the word about your business. Those who answer 7 or 8 are passives, generally satisfied but not super enthusiastic. Finally, anyone who rates you 0 to 6 is a detractor, meaning they're not thrilled with their experience.

To calculate NPS, you simply subtract the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters. The result can range from -100 (if everyone hates you) to +100 (if everyone's a promoter). The higher your NPS, the better, as it's a clear indicator of customer loyalty and satisfaction.

So what is a good Net Promoter Score? Bain & Company suggests the following scoring framework:

  • Above 0 is good,

  • Above 20 is favorable,

  • Above 50 is excellent, and

  • Above 80 is world-class
